Zorianna Kit

 

Zorianna is a television and print journalist.  Currently, Zorianna's on-air celebrity interviews can be seen on Fandango.com - the nation's largest movie ticket-buying website - for whom she is also a guest columnist.  Also on the print side, Zorianna is a contributing writer for Reuters, The Huffington Post and The Hollywood Reporter among others.

 

Previously Zorianna was the resident film analyst at TV Guide Network where she interviewed stars, reviewed films, attended red carpet events, traveled to film festivals and offered up her expert opinion on the business of film in Hollywood.  Her expertise could be seen on the channel’s daily entertainment news show “Hollywood 411,” as well as on the many programs she hosted for the network, including the movie show "Flicks," the DVD release show “What’s On DVD,” and the celebrity biography series "Close Up."

 

While at TV Guide, she appeared as a fill-in host on the long-time syndicated movie review series “Ebert & Roeper.”  Zorianna co-hosted with Richard Roeper and is one of the few women to ever appear on the program.  During this time, she was also enlisted by comedian Harland Williams to be the entertainment reporter on his Denver-based radio show "The Harland Highway," broadcast on 103.5 The Fox through Clear Channel. 

 

During that time, Zorianna stepped outside the realm of entertainment to host the business show "Dog & Pony" on BNet.com, where she interviewed small business owners and company C.E.O.'s. 

 

Zorianna came to TV Guide from two simultaneous showbiz gigs. She was a movie critic for “The Movie Club with John Ridley,” on the AMC cable network. The weekly review show ran for two seasons and also had Zorianna acting as the fill-in host.

 

At the same time Zorianna was the entertainment anchor for KTLA Channel 5’s nightly live news broadcast, Prime News, which airs at 10pm. The CW affiliate in Los Angeles is one of the top rated newscasts in the city. She also contributed regularly to the KTLA Morning News.

 

Her reputation as a TV journalist has led Zorianna to being cast as a newscaster on both the big and small screens. Most recently she played herself in Marvel Films’ feature “Iron Man,” Dimension Films’ “The Longshots,” starring Ice Cube and the Neil LaBute movie “Lakeview Terrace.”  She'll next appear as herself in Anchor Bay Films' horror spoof "Stan Helsing."

 

Zorianna comes to television from the world of print. She was a columnist for People Magazine where her column "The Insider" was dedicated to breaking news and providing inside information on the entertainment business and the celebrities that capture the public's interest.

 

Prior to that Zorianna was the senior staff film reporter at The Hollywood Reporter, considered the bible of the entertainment industry and one of the most widely known and often quoted periodicals in the world. During her five years on the film beat she covered the business of movie making on a daily basis, chronicling the day-to-day goings on in the film industry.

 

Zorianna also appeared on a regular segment of the weekend edition of NBC’s “Access Hollywood.” This popular segment, called “Face Off,” had Zorianna offering her expert and entertaining opinions on movies, television, music and other pop culture. Over the years, she has covered numerous award shows including the SAGs for TNT and the Oscars for CNN and E. She is regularly seen on various celebrity biographies for E, A&E and the BBC among others.

 

As a child growing up in Canada, Zorianna began writing for Ukrainian children’s magazines. As a teenager, she segued to youth magazines. At 17, she was the Ottawa correspondent for Canada’s YTV Network (Canada’s equivalent to Nickelodeon). She then got a degree in journalism at Canada’s prestigious Ryerson University where she was the entertainment editor of the acclaimed college newspaper The Ryersonian.

 

At 21, while in her junior year of college, she was hired by the Toronto Sun newspaper and given her own weekly Liz Smith-type column making her one of the youngest columnists at a major metropolitan newspaper in North America.

 

At the age of 23, Zorianna moved to Los Angeles and began working as a freelance journalist. Her work was published in Emmy Magazine, MovieMaker, Detour, Box Office, Film Insider, Film Threat, Shape and Bop, among others. She also wrote her own monthly column for the teen-geared Jump Magazine, where she covered movies, music, television, and trends and profiled talent for cover stories.

 

Overthe past decade, Zorianna’s work has been featured in such publicationsas Life Magazine, Entertainment Weekly and Glamour.

 

Zorianna’s cover story for Written By: The Journal of the Writers’ Guild of America won a “Maggie” award and she was profiled in Detour Magazine’s Young Hollywood issue as one of the top 30 people in Hollywood under 30 years old.

 

Zorianna speaks three languages, was a nationally ranked concert pianist in Canada and is active in the rescue and care of abandoned dogs. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, two daughters as well as a gaggle of dogs, fish and a talking parrot.
